Sheetal Sharma

Sheetal Sharma is an experienced Senior Soil Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute. With over 16 years of international experience, her primary research focus is on providing farmers with accurate information to mitigate and adapt to climate change and aims to move from degenerative to regenerative ecologically sustainable rice-based systems. Dr. Sharma uses innovative knowledge transfer approaches and ICT-based digital decision-support tools to improve profitability while sustaining the environment. She is actively involved in the capacity development of local scientists and scholars for regenerative soil management practices. Dr. Sharma has received several accolades throughout her career, including the 11th Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers.
