Boniface has a Ph.D. in Information Systems, an MSc in Computer Science, and a BSc in Information Technology and is pursuing a postdoctoral in Data Science at TU Delft University, Netherlands. He is a scholar and practitioner with extensive experience in international, public, and private sector organizations. A Certified Systems Engineer and Data Science expert. Boniface is the Digital Agriculture Specialist at FAO Kenya and has been the Director of ICT at KALRO. He previously served as the Chief of IT at the US Army Research Directorate-Africa and as a Management Information Specialist at Care International and Coca-Cola, respectively. He has brought transformative changes in the Agriculture sector and contributed to the growth of organizations by leading digital innovation and citizen service delivery. He has published peer-reviewed articles in Journal outlets. He is the Chair of the Committee on Data of the International Council for Science (CODATA) Agricultural Data Task Group in France. A Technical Advisory Committee member on Data Science for Social Determinants, New York University (NYU), and Advisory Board Member of Higher Education Institutions Generating Holistic And Transformative Solutions (HEIGHTS). In 2016, he received the Climate Information Prize Award from UKAID for developing a platform that tackles climate change impacts and Africa CIO Excellence Award in 2019, for spearheading agricultural innovation transformation in Africa.
